Is there any type of music that helps calm down your anxiety issues with the phobia?I love all types of music but for this, mine would be classical ( preferably Bach), Depeche Mode and Massive Attack. They seem to help mellow me out and my hyperventilation subsides and it helps take me to another place.

    What about you?

All great artists but I think Joy Division would increase my anxiety personally.

When I'm feeling anxious and panicky for some reason I have to listen to New Age/Pure Moods type of music. Like Enigma, E.S. Posthumus, David Lanz, Sarah Brightman (my favorite!) and so forth.

Every other kind makes me feel even worse!

Hmmm...I would have to say 80s cheese. And lots of it.A lot of the music from that decade reminds me of my carefree, pre-emet childhood, and it makes me feel good!

I also like some country music--but not the awful sell-outs who sound more like bubble-gum pop than real country--Faith Hill *coughcough* Tim McGraw ** Rascall Flatts.

I also like rock from the "grunge era"--when I was a teen. Pearl Jam, Green Day, Soundgarden...it's all good. (but not really Nirvana--go figure. I feel like I'm a traitor to my generation for not liking Nirvana. Guess I'm going to hell......)

Basically, songs that I can sing along to, when I feel anxious help calm me down. Probably because when you sing, you take deep breaths in and out, which help relax you. Common sense and all that......it works! Edited by: HDogg
