How is Emetophobia pronounced??? I don't know if this has been asked already but I am curious....

    Is it:

    ee-ME-tophobia?

    "emmit"-ophobia?

    em-ME-tophobia?

    And is "Emet" pronounced

    EE-met? or "Emmit'???

I don't ever know how to say it!

    I pronounoce it

    ee-MET-o-phobia

    and

    ee-MET.

That's funny that you post this, cause I was just wondering the other day if I pronounced it the right way, or the same way as everyone else here does.

I'm pretty sure it is em (like the letter "M") ophobia, as the word for v* is emesis, which is pronounced em (like the letter "M) esis.

This is dependant upon your particular pronunciation of certain
phonemes in the English language. So, most likely there are a few
    acceptable pronunciations:

    Syllable 1: E / Eh

    Syllable 2: Meh / Muh

    Syllable 3: Toe / Tuh / Doe / Duh

lol - what a cute thread!

It's pronounced ee-MET-uh-FOH-bee-ah. (I've actually heard it quite often in academic circles)

Shortened on here to EE-met (but the short-form is a guess)

I think it's the Queen's English! Or perhaps some in England would say f-eow-bee-ah...ha ha ha.
