hello all.

my name is Kate and I am 15 years old. I have been suffering from Emet for 10 years.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to tell when we are just panicking vs. when we are actually going to v*. i frequently get "attacks" where i am n* for hours but never end up v* (thank gosh). i always think "this is going to be the time". i have v* in the past but does anyone have any suggestions?

lastly, friday i am going to New Jersey for a Dance Convention with the So You Think You Can Dance stars for 4 days.At my school there has been an outbreak of the sv* and i am so scared i am going to v* on the way down there (ride from ct) or v* in front of these amazing famous dancers. I did not know that the virus was spreading around until a week after it had started and i had been slacking on remembering to sanitze my desks and such. (i am ashamed ) i have been washing them this week but i am so afraid i am thinking about skipping this once in a lifetime chance. does anyone have any advice, i kind of feel alone like i'm loosing my mind. </3

It is really hard to tell between real n* and anxiety-related n*. With
so many years of going through this, I feel like I am finally able to
tell for the most part. But, even when I know it is anxiety related, it
still feels so real. I especially know when mine is anxiety related
because it is just this tight feeling that I get in my throat where I
feel like I am going to gag. Then, that makes me feel like I am going
to v*. With all that is going on in your life, it totally sounds like
it is anxiety-related. The sv is going on all around all of us. Think
about how many people have not gotten it and will not get it.

If you have been careful this week, I am sure you will be fine and not
get what is going around. You just can't skip this opportunity because
you are right, it is probably a once in a lifetime chance. You should
go and enjoy every minute of it. Don't let this emet take control of
you.

I agree with suzie_q, don't miss out on this opportunity because of
this damn fear. You should go and have a great time and know that you
took great precautions this week and if you would have caugh the sv, it
would have hit you by now. And it hasn't and it won't.

Go and have a great time!

Hi Kate,

I am sorry you are going through this is really does suck. Sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference. I have been an emet for 23 years and I still have trouble! I am sure you are safe o the s*v* though, you would have caught it by now!

Have a great time on Friday! And welcome!
