Im realy worried about going into hospital to have my baby as it will be in march which is still the noro and other SV season... im realy scared that i will pick something up.
My mum has tried to tell me that the baby wards are different from the average hospital wards, there not full of ill people the reason she said why they spread is because the people on normal wards have low immune systems because there poorly so its different on the baby ward.
Plus our maternity suite is like seperate from our main hospital they are still conencted but its weird there far apart from each other .. im getting realy stressed out over this!

I understand, but your mom is right, you are not going to find a bunch of sick people in the maternity ward. you will be fine so try not to worry. Try to focus on the joy of having this baby, what an exciting time for you and your family. I can't wait to hear all about your experience. I can't remember, do you know if you are having a boy or girl?

She is absolutely right, and I have had three children in the hospital and never got sick... they are very careful around the little ones. You will be just fine!

aww hun, try not to panic, your mum is totally right tho, maternity wards are much safer, they have to be as babies dont have any immunity.

you will be totally fine.. i cant wait for you to have baby, make sure you take tons of photos

Your mum is right, but I understand how you feel! You are separate from the main hospital, and do you have your own room and bathroom?

I agree w/ the others there shouldn't be any sv germs on the maternity ward as it is for delivering babies not illness. You're gonna do fine! Plus they probably are extra careful on that floor as the little babies don't have much immune system yet and need protection.

I understand your anxiety - to some extent, I experienced it too lo those 24 years ago...~! However, having a baby is one of those things that's like...inevitable, ya know? There's nothing you can do about it - lol. Can't back out now so to speak. So my point is...you have to go into the hospital...therefore your "worry" about it (stressing, fretting, getting anxious) is only going to make you feel worse. I know to some extent you can't help worrying, but on the other hand to some extent you can. The more you can force yourself to STOP the worry, fretting and being anxious, the better you'll feel. And the better it will be for your baby too. So...try to stop focusing on "what could happen" because it's only to your detriment. The anxious focus in and of itself, is not a good thing.

I hope this makes sense and feels helpful.

    Blessings,

Your mom is right....and they are definitely going to be extra careful where babies are concerned. I think once you get there you will be so busy having that baby that you won't even think about the sv*! I hope everything goes well for you and your little one - you must be so excited
