Emetophobia is an anxiety disorder and therefore a mental illness. In the DSM it's classified as a "specific phobia".

Emetophobia is neither a "disease" nor an "illness" unless you categorize it as a "mental illness". But this is all semantics. I refer to it as a "disorder". And yes, if you have an anxiety disorder like emetophobia then the anxiety can easily be manifested in other ways such as social phobia, agoraphobia, or obessive-compulsive disorder. All of which are anxiety disorders as well. You can also get other, different specific phobias.
