I'm not blaming anyone on this site at all

I have read all the post and have noticed that alot of
people you all know have been getting sick
and I'm a little scared

There isn't much of a question or a story
just kind of sharing how I feel.

I just moved to a new state about a month ago so
I havnt been around ANYONE accept my parents
so I have pretty good odds but still
I'm so terrified that once I start socializing someone
is going to get sick

I am also worrying about the poor other people that actually have to be around people who are sick

Please tell me when everyone is feeling better

Maybe you should take a little break from here when you start socializing. Then perhaps your mind would be on making new friends and not on the v* updates. If it makes you feel better, I do lots of risky emet activites like going to the movies, swimming at the beach and eating fast food and I haven't been ill in years. You gotta get out there and meet people in your new town. Good luck!

I agree, for the time being, i think tke a break frm this site, so your mind isnt plagued with all the woes of the site, which might spook you,

That way when you socialise you get confidence, and feel much more stronger and independant I also do lots of stuff, like cinema swimming going to theme parks, ordinary country parks, shopping, eating out, etc and i have never once been ill! So you will be fine

Go out have fun, and then you can comebak to the site, and be a bit of fresh air Telling everyone how you went to the cinema and you were fine

I came to a site like this(it wasn't this one though) I few years ago and it made me freak out a little more, so I quit. I wanted to try again cause I had been having trouble with my phobia anyway and I thought maybe it would go over better this time and it has. If you let this phobia run your life you're going to be miserable, so try not to let that happen. When you do socialize just practice excellent hygiene and you'll significantly reduce your chances of getting a SV. Weird buggers they are, but almost anytime I ever got one it was from someone in the family with whom I had continuous close contact and some other times I never got sick even in those situations. Do what you have to for your own sanity and for goodness sake don't be isolated I can say from experience it makes things worse!

If reading stuff here freaks you out then I agree, maybe a break might be best. But personally, reading everything here has helped me in the opposite way because it just helped me realize how I'm just focusing all my energy on worrying about one thing that really isn't all that serious and I've been working on fixing that. But that's just me.

I agree, with everyone else. Sometimes it freaks me out sometimes as well. I don't really know why though. >_<
I've been taking a bit of a break for the last week or so, I don't really know if it's made a difference with my anxiety. Now though, I decided to come back and check the boards everyday or two.

be selective over what you want to read on here, how about for the next few weeks concentrate on the success stories part of the site, take inspiration from other peoples triumph instaed of feeding the demon in your brain that wants you to read other peoples anxieties, this will reinforce your own and make things worse, sure its a great help to know other people feel the same but you dont want this to become a friend, the emetaphobia is something you need to overcome, it is possible but it hurts. Your younge and in a new chapter in your life, dont make it so u look back and remeber an awful time in life, think of all the new places to go and people to meet. Definatly just look at the really positive stuff on here and in time, you might be writing your won success story. Good luck, enjoy your new home! xxx
