Hello Tracey!

Welcometo the site! Happy you found us. This is a great little family to be a part of. I hope you feel confident enough to post more, and sorry you have had to put up with the phobia for so long.

Hi Tracy! Welcome to the family! You will find a lot of support here and I can sayfrom experience that the more you talk about it, the easier it becomes. We're all friendly people here so nothing to worry about on that score!

I've had emetophobia for about 20 years too and also recently started reading the site. I've also notbeen too sure what to say as I've never talked about my phobia, butIthink what John's done is fantastic.

    Hi Louise

Thankyou for your reply! I guess I will soon feel confident enough to tell you more about myself. It's quite a long story as I have had this for so long.
My diet is quite poor & I find I'm stuck at home most days . I have got some ocd too, does anyone else find that they develope other phobis/symptoms/ocd.

My ocd is germs/contamination. I also check sell by dates & use by dates on the foods I do eat.

Hi I am also new to this site and really just wanted to say hi you all seem so friendly. I have had emetophobia for 33 years now (I am 36) and find it extremely hard to deal with day to day life. I am hoping that by reading your messages it will help me. I am starting therapy on May 21st which I am dreading but also kind of excited (if that makes sense) as Ihope that it will help me see light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for listening sorry don't really know what else to say as this is all so new to me.

    Rachel x

Hi I promise I will keep youupdated on the therapy front. It is great to know that there are other people out there who understand and are supportive. Obviously it would be fantastic if none of us suffered with emet but obviously that is not the case.

It would be great to know if any of you go into the chat room and what sort of time (if at all possible to give a time) as it would be lovely to chat to you.

Thanks again for being there. I am also here for any of you as this phobia has been with me for a long time so I DO understand.

    Rachel
