I'm going to the Calgary stampede this summer, and was really excited
about the rides, until the friend who I'm going with said she gets motion
sickness and can't go on them. I don't want to ditch her, but at the same
time, I love rides. What should I do?

Get her to hold your coat and take plenty of photos of you having the time of your life - that what my partner does when I hit the roller-coasters as he can't stand them and I LOVE them!! Have fun.

    Best wishes

You guys will still have the TIME of your life. There is so much to do and see that you going on a few rides while your friend holds your coat and takes pics won't be a problem. They will be happy to see you having fun and relieved to know that they aren't being a burden by not going on the rides.

    HAVE a blast.

Bah. I rarely go on rides. I was literally dragged onto a few last year! lol. I've gone for the past 4 years, and have never had a problem (knock on wood!). I plan on going again this year. I usually hold all their stuff while my friends go on the rides. I'll ride the ferriswheel willingly. But that's it! lol.

I've already made up my mind to forget my fears and have a good time.
I've never travelled anywhere before (if you don't count the drive to Banff I
went on with my family in 1996), and it's something I've always wanted to
do, yet my emet has been keping me from doing it. Hopefully, this week-
and-a-half in another province will be a good start.
And I'll remember to say hello to Alberta for you, Neha!
