Ok something light for a change....

Who's your favorite author?

What are your favorite books?

I love Stephen King. I've been reading him since I was 11. I love "The Stand", The "Dark Tower" series, "It" and actually all of his books.

Some other good books I've read lately:

The Abstinence Teacher by Tom Perotta
Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer
Empire Falls by Richard Russo
The Quickie by James Patterson
White Oleander by Janet Fitch
After Sunset by Stephen King (short stories)
Duma Key by Stephen King
Ghost Story by Peter Straub

My favorite book of all time is "The Five People you Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. A lot of people have read it, but if you haven't, don't let the title fool you. It's not a religious book or anything like that. I HIGHLY recommend it.

A few more of my favorites:

"The Lovely Bones" - Alice Sebold - About a 14 year old girl who is raped and murdered. She watches (from heaven) her family and friends(and killer)deal with her death. (this one is being made into a movie staring Mark Wahlburg)

"My Sister's Keeper" - Jodi Picoult- About a girl who was born (created) to save her sister's life who has cancer. Basically she has spent her entire childhood being used for "spare parts" to save her sister, and finally decides to sue her parents for the rights to her own body.

"19 Minutes" - Jodi Picoult - About a school shooting from all points of view. (the victim's parents, the shooter, the shooter's mom)

"Miracle in the Andes" - Nando Parrado- True story about the 1972 Uruguayan rugby team who's plane crashed in the mountains, and how they survived. AMAZING story! I have read this book 3 times!

The lovely bones sounds really intriguing.. I think I'm going to out and pick up a copy.

I like Stephen Kings "Needful Things" - Its an interesting story about a store that opens up in Maine, and the shop keeper has everyones most sought out possession, and to get it they end up trading more than they bargain for.

I LOVE Harry Potter. Seriously. They are amazing works of literature.

I like Mitch Albom. The Five People You Meet In Heaven is a really good book.

The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashijan is a young adult book but I got really into it.

Death to All Cheerleaders : One Adolescent Journalist's Cheerful Diatribe Against Teenage Plasticity by Marty Beckerman is super funny. Marty Beckerman is cool, he messages me back on myspace.

Penny77: I've read all of those and loved them.

Babydoll: I loved Needful Things. One of my favorite SK books....so sinister and weird.
