I made some chips but made it quite salty, ate it all because it was small portion anyway.
Now i'm worried that eating that much salt will make me sick and I think this because I know salty water does?

So if salty water makes you sick, why wouldnt a portion of salty food?

Abit worried, would be grateful for your advice!

I do believe you'll be fine. As a child, before my emetophobia, I would put
excess salt on my salad. I would recommend drinking plain water to dilute
the salt anyway.

Does anyone know what's the difference between drinking salt water
and eating really salty food? Is it the presence of water or is it that
food soaks the salt? Is it the amount of salt put in salt water to make
someone ill? If I know then in the future I know not to worry!

Wow... that's pretty amazing. My favorite foods are all high in salt. o.O

They're the ones that don't usually mess with my stomach.

I need to rethink my life.

My mother's convinced salty food is the best thing when you feel ill.

Personally I eat tons of salt on just about everything I eat, and I haven't been sick in 10 years (that's when I became an emetophobic).

Saltine crackers / chips and 7Up are a very popular choice for when people are feeling ill. If salty crackers were bad for that, you'd think it would be unpopular.

As far as salt water goes, I have heard the volume of salt in salt water is
much higher than our kidneys can handle so it can quickly dehydrate you.
You can take it in small portions though. It is likely best to drink or consume
with water though.

Things like saltines are perfectly fine, as the amount of salt on them is
probably just enough to make you feel thirsty if you eat enough of them.
that and they are so dry!
Life is so worth living.
