just asking,
but do any of you feel nervous going to buffets..?
you know,
coz you're expected to eat much after all
or the cash you spend will not be worth it
opinions please

i try and avoid buffets because, first of all, i never like
too eat much, and second, im in fear of food poisoning so i
usually try and eat "safe" foods on the rare chance i do go
to one. but, to answer your question, yes, i get very
nervous going to them!
There is a delicious, high-quality Chinese buffet near my house. My dad and
I go there RIGHT when they open, so the food is steaming hot and no one
else has touched the spoons before me!
If you do that, you should be OK!
I've never been afraid of buffets, now i think I might be though. . .

Posts like that always make me sad. It proves to me that coming on this site sometimes gives people new and more things to be afraid of! Please don't start fearing buffets if you never did before!! I have eaten at them plenty of times, and I have not v* since 1984!

That makes me feel a little better, actually a lot better seeing how I was planning on going out with some friends to a bufft on thursday. . .:-)

Yeah buffets are fine so long as you use your common sense and eat things which don't look 'bad'
at my aunt's wedding, I ate a load from the buffet table including creamy salad dip and was worried but I was fine. I also ate it with a plastic fork which was in a box where everyone put their hands, and I ate the pizza with my hands! No wonder I was nervous, but I was totally fine. And people do stuff like that every day and don't get ill, i guess it's not even a thought to most people.
"Here in the final draft, I've given all I have,
Strange how the heart expands in the absence of a plan,
There's nothing left on the page but I'm okay with that,
I found my resolution was designed for stronger hands"
I wouldn't think anything of it, especially if the restaurant was classy and respectable. Just think, if people got sick from these things frequently, it would make for bad press. Which makes for bad business and nobody wants that.
I recently heard that Whole Foods has an awesome salad bar and I thought about it for only a moment, until I realized that Whole Foods has a great standard for quality and I would not be afraid to eat there.
I do not eat at buffets (at least I try not to) due to the germ factor, plus the amount of time the food may have been sitting out freaks me out. But like someone else said -- don't let others fear stop you from doing something you otherwise would have done!!!
Go and have a great time!
