Smile How do you get anti-nausea meds?

Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get anti-nausea medications? I do not have a primary care physician and feel weird telling a doctor I don't know about my fear. Any info would be great

I would be more interested in looking into the root cause of your nausea tbh i.e does it have a physical cause or, and being an emet this is more likely - is it caused by anxiety?

If it's the latter then taking anti-emetics isn't the answer because if you take them on a regular basis they won't work when you really need them.

It's perfectly safe to use things like ginger and peppermint capsules and teas though so i would give them a whirl to start with and see how you get on. And meanwhile work on recognising the symptoms of anxiety nausea so when you get it, you know it's "only" that - it's really hard to describe but i know if i get anxiety nausea it's more in the throat than the stomach, and also if you are really going to be sick you just know there really is no mistaking that sensation - that's not to say i don't sometimes convince myself it's about to happen when it doesn't but those occasions are alot rarer than they used to be.

If you want something stronger on hand for real emergencies when you genuinely think you are going to be sick then there are some otc drugs you can buy - i'm guessing your in america? if so i think they are called benadryl and dramamine.

You should absolutely tell your doctor though. That's what they are there for! People are often more understanding than you think

I agree with paulinek - it's best to talk with a doctor about how to get help with the anxiety. I have an article on my website about how to talk to your professional about it - check it out at http://www.emetophobiahelp.blogspot.com

The ONE time I was prescribed anti-emetics I was popping them like crazy. They were gone within a week and I realized that was NOT a good thing. I got prescribed them because I came into the ER with immense stomach pain and couldn't eat anything (way to go hiatal hernia) I was not v*ing at the time, but they decided to prescribe them to me anyway.

Now I just use mints or even these Ginger Altoids that you can find at some places. The Ginger Altoids helped me A LOT. I pop one whenever I get anxious and feel n*.
