I'm going to v-festival this summer. For those of you who dont know what it is its a 2 day festival. I've made myself go becasue its only about 10mins train ride from my house cause i'm usually put off by the travelling. Have any of you been to these open air type things before? I havent and was wondering what it is like. Do many people v*? I'm prepared for some I guess. Also do get really clostrophobic in the crowd??? I've been to an indoor concert where we have seets and that was ok but this is kinda different. Also i'm worried about getting home. Theres a shuttle bus to get me to the station but I really dont know if I shuld get on it at night when people are likely to get drunk ( do people get drunk at these things?) I mgith have to tear myslef away from the concert and go home early. hmmm I'm ok getting there. Maybe I can persuade my mum to collect me if I go a bit early to avoid the traffic. hmmm I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! Please help. I dotn want to waste the £80 I spent on my ticket!! ohhhhh i wanna go to the V festival! it looks good this year

I've sort of been to one, it was just a pop concert outside - but it was an all day thing...

but i was right near the front, and kept getting pushed about, and i suspect a rock concert will be much worse!

there are lots of toilets there though.. well port-a-loos! lol

I'm sure you'll be fine, just don't eat too much, just incase! and just enjoy yourself, and tell us if it was good or not, when you have been! hehe

    Hi Izzy,

I have been to an out-door concert like that once before.Actually, it was about a year ago.I was pretty scared too. I mean, tons and tons of peole were there, and they were drinking and eating, and there was not much room to breathe. But I went anyway. I wanted to experience it. Plus, the tickets were $13 and they had really goodartists like Kelly Clarkson, Michelle Branch, Jewel, Simple Plan, etc. So, I didn't want my fears to make me miss out on such a cool opportunity to see so many artists so cheap!! So, anyway, I went with my friends and we had a lot of fun!! It was downtown Houston, so things were a bit um...crazy...lol...but I didn't see any v*.Oddly enough, the celebration was an "Earth Day Festival" and if you saw the place, you would never know!!People had littered everywhere!!! Geesh!! But there was no v*, thank goodness! I don't know what type of artists are playing at your concert, and it may be more hardcore than what I went to lol, andmine wasn't all nightbut I say GOOO and have a blast!! Don't miss out on this opportunity!! Have fun!!! Don't let the emet get in the way or taking this opportunity away from you!!! Now that I think back, I sure would've regretted itif I hadn't gone to that event!! They are probably going to have another one this year, and I'm probably going to go to that one too!!

Like Louise said, there are a lot of porta-potties there lol.

Are you going with some friends that know about your emet? Maybe that will help? I know it helped me to be there with my friends.

yeh. I live where the other one is lol! Right near it so i thaught I must go!!

I think I might use the oppertunity to tell my friends that I have emet and that I might get scared an need to get out oft eh crowd for a bit. I'm going with another 2 people plus meeting up with a group of others but only need to tell 2 of them.

I'm deffenatly going even if I only stay for half an hour each day!!Edited by: izzybee

you can do it izzy i know you can i've been to tons of rock concerts and i just wanna warn you, if you croud surf, DONT LET THEM STEAL YOUR SHOES haha.. also try not to get thrown into a mosh pit and end up like me (i was croud surfing and got thrown into one and i was like sitting there like a wounded animal lol i was so scared!!) but you'll be fine. if you do end up getting a little nervous in the middle of a croud just say like you cant breath or something and everyone will move outta your way lol then you can get outta there!! you'll have fun though dont worry. dont let this phobia get in your way of liveing your life and haveing a great time.

izzy, determination is the key, and i think ur full of it.

my sister is going to the V-gig things.. altho, i stil hvent found the confidence to go yet so im very very keen to see you get there safely and come back safely with no problems at all, which im sure is how it will go!

the good thing about it being outside, for me, wud be that i can run away somewhere, where no one else is hpefully, and just be alone for a while to calm down or smthing. i dont know if u get the same kinda thing tho.

anyway, just wanna say, evn tho i know ur not going for ages, to hav a GREAT TIME! i hear its the best thing my sister has ever been to, hence why shes going again this yr! Lol

iv only ever been to party in the park, where its out doors. but that was fine. as babyblubug said, u can beat this phobia, dont let it keep u from having a gud time.

Hey Izzy - i have been to reading festival for the last four years.

ill be honest - yeah people are gonna v* - there are loads of 14 year olds- away from home- getting drunk and v*ing. so yeah be prepared. but look on the really really excellent side - you get to see loads of bands and stuff all the drunks - why do we need to care about them - let them get on with it. another thing is the porta loos - GRIM with a capital G. take your own loo roll and wipes, anti bacterial stuff - be scrupulous about hygiene - and stick to bland food - take your own food like crisps and dried cereal bars - you will be able to go off site though and find the supermarkets in towns. it is hard work def for an emet and ive been to reading for the last four years - camping all weekend - yes there were times when i thought - god this is the last thing i should be doing - but it was worth it - and if your willing and set your mind to it - see it as a challenge - then you will have a great time and go home lookng back at how strong you really are.

Honestly - the whole four years i was there i never saw anyone v* - only whatever was in the prota loos - but i undo trousers b4 i go in - hold my breath and go!!

youll be fine - it will be wicked - trust me and ask any questions you have!!

    love emmsxxx

I've been to something like that. It's called Edgefest. I went twice and had a good time! I don't remember seeing anyone be sick...but back then I wasn't too worried about it, like I am now.

I think you'll have a great time Izzy!

The only thing I didn't like was getting kicked in the head in the moshpit! lol. That I unwillingly went into. Then I had a headache!

I think any time you are at an event with alcohol, you run the risk of someone v***ing! I went to a Kansas City Royals (baseball) game last year and sat in front of an entire group of teeneagers amd young 20 somethings, one girl passed out and v*ed all over herself, and all of her friends left her sitting there while they went to get more beer and food. I went and got a policewoman to escort her out, since I certainly didn't want to see tha disgutingness (she just sat there, covered in it, some of it in the cardboard drink tray her beers came in) and I had my babies with me and I wanted our experience to be wholesome and fun! The girl was such a brat, when the police told her that she couldn't just sit there covered in vomit, she KICKED the tray with the v*** in it and tried to get it on the poor policewoman!! GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've gone to alot of outdoor concerts as well and have encountered vomit, it's not so bad if it's not too terribly hot outside, and it always makes me feel better to know that it is drunk v**, not the sick, germy contagious kind.

I've been to a few outdoor concerts, they are a blast but if they are serving beer then be prepared for drunk people, I saw a few people v* but it's outdoors so it's not quite as bad, it all depends on the situation to me. Don't let your phobia keep you from going, I'm sure it will be a blast and you will have a great time.
    We\'ll beat this!
