Cool Ways to make your mind Fizz - Distractions

Not sure where to post this, but it can be moved if I do a boo-boo, right?

So I was wondering if anyone had specific ways of distracting themselves from the panic?
(If there's already a thread, feel free to smack me)

I'll give you a wee list of my favourite distractions:

    1) My personal "Emetophone" playlist.
Basically a couple of hours of music. Different genres, different moods, different reasons for liking each song. Everyone should have one of these- Music is magical. I'll share mine with you though!

    2) My list of things to watch.
Ten films I repeatedly watch to relax. (Note: These are the British titles)
    The Lion King
    Ice Age
    Spirited Away
    The Da Vinci Code
    Titanic
    Billy Elliot
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    The Boat That Rocked
    Dances with Wolves
    Amelie

    3) Playing dress-up!
As immature as it sounds, messing with the way I am on the outside makes me feel a little better on the inside!
    . Cutting and/or dying hair
. Shopping for new clothes (online if it's a panic day!)
. Trying new combinations of clothes

    4) Tidying and decorating.
The little things that occupy your mind. Dusting, aligning your books in height order, pinning a collage of photos to your bedroom wall. It works if you let it!

    5) Reading or writing.
Immerse yourself in someone else's story, or create a perfect world of your own.
    Books that have helped me:
    . The Raging Quiet
    . The Time Travellers Wife
    . Mother Tongue
    . The Railway Children
    . The Chronicles of Narnia
Poetry is a good release. You're not making people miserable by complaining, you're creating art. Let it all out, no?

ANYWAY that was a long rant. I suppose I could add "making lists".

    Thank you for reading!

I must say that you have great taste in music!
I basically do the same thing to distract myself, listen to music, watch movies...
Baths also calm me... and playing with my pets

TV is a great distraction..especially a good film (one preferably without v*). I often put the tv on when the children are unwell at night and we lay downstairs in makeshift beds until they feel better. I cannot bear to sit watching them, waiting for “it” to happen!

Housework is also great..not only does it busy you..you feel good because you are getting rid of germs plus your house looks so much better when you are done!

I find puzzles like Sudoku help because they get the mind churning on something other than worry.
