I always knew my phobia began when my brother as a baby had a problem that made him projectile v*. I was only 6 at the time. I did not remember, however, that I went with my parents to the hospital and upon leaving they forgot about me for about 5 minutes and I was left in the hospital with a nurse. My parents said I was extremely upset over that. I thought they had left me for good. I wonder if that is an underlying cause of my phobia.

Perhaps! A tragic experience can somehow trigger it, and then your fear of your brother projectile vomiting probablytopped it off.Edited by: Raspberries

aha! yes, the plot thickens...the good news is that the more you can "target" these sorts of things, the more you can work on overcoming them, AND the phobia will get better.

    Good luck!

Interesting Sweetfreak!! I think it very well could have contributed to the phobia. In psychology, we are studying something very similar to that, right now, and it's making me look into my own life and find instances like that... I think it's interesting how we uncover things like that! Itreally helps when some of the puzzle pieces are in place, doesn't it? Makes things make more sense...Edited by: NCsmile6

That is interesting. It's so weird the way our brains work.
