Well I've been swamped lately, which is why I haven't been posting. I'm
working two jobs now, usually going straight from one to the other. I was
rejected by one of my employers for a raise, even though I've been
working there for a year and a half. Christmas is coming and I'm totally
not prepared. My boyfriend isn't talking to me for some reason and my
best friend is never home. I'm super stressed and my anxiety is horrible
right now. I've even started taking Paxil again. I've never been a morning
person, and I've found my anxiety to be the worst in the mornings, the
other day I was shaking so much I couldn't do my makeup!
Does anyone know of some relaxation techniques I could try? Something I
could use while sitting on the bus and out in public. It would be much
appreciated!

My anxiety has ALWAYS been the worst in the morning, and I hate it. First thing in the morning when I wake up, I'll turn the TV on and watch the news or something. I even play a little hand held Yahtzee game. Magazines are good too. I'm to the point now though where I just ignore it. It just comes a part of my day. Try to concentrate in the morning on the things you have to do for the day. For the bus, try reading a magazine that you like or even try the game. I play it all of the time. It gets addicting. I hope you feel better soon.

One more thing, Paxil works really well for anxiety. I take 10mg a day.

Funny, I find that my anxiety is worse in the evening. Always has been. I've started to doing deep breathing techniques and progessive muscle relaxation. If you want any specifics just ask.

My anxiety is really bad, when it starts getting dark out. It has always been that way. To ward off my anxiety, I lay down on my back with my eyes shut, and play some really relaxing music. I light a good smelling candle, and let my mind drift off to somewhere really far away....like a beach shore, an empty grassy field on a blanket, anything that would relax you in reality.

I find that warm baths in the dark (with candles lit) help too. Sometimes I even read a good book or pop in a good movie, or I just call someone who cares. All these things help!

I am on paxi CR, and it works great for my anxiety! Charlotte
