I've wondered this as well, how do you actually know what it is? I had something a few months ago, which caused a loss of appetite, a horrible stomach ache and then v*. But then after that, I was okay. I still couldn't eat what I wanted, but I didn't have any other symptoms afterward. I still to this day have no idea what exactly it was, and it's actually been driving me crazy!!

The only way to know if you've had a norovirus is to do a lab test through your doctor.
All noroviruses are basically the same. Each season the virus mutates, so there's theoretically only one per season.
