    Default Compazine?

I have been feeling nauseous for WEEKS now (no I'm not pregnant). I have at least one bad episode per day, often two or three. It got unbearable after about a week so I went to a doctor and he prescribed Compazine. A lifesaver one night that was terrible. Is it safe to take Compazine almost daily? Sometimes pepto helps, but often it only takes part of the edge off. I have no side-effects and it works very well. I just don't want to run out. I don't know what the nausea is related to, the doc had no ideas either. I drink peppermint tea occasionally to help, ginger makes it worse. I just want to know if it's safe? Does anyone have other suggestions of things I can eat or take to calm this?

That's a really good question for your pharmacist or probably your doctor. I wouldn't take the advice of people on the internet, honestly.

I hope you feel better soon!

OK thanks for the advice, I'll certainly ask. I live in a state where pot is legal by prescription and found that it works better than anything I've tried (I just tried it tonight). It's a shame it's not fully legal. I'd imagine it would be an emet's dream (I know for me it is). It even can work for some against Norovirus! Feeling how quickly and effectively it worked for me, it honestly has made me much MUCH less frightened of catching the noro or food poisoning because I'm not so helpless anymore. I can't believe I didn't think to ask for this before! I feel so much better than I did a few hours ago.

I am currently using Compazineto combat nausea resulting from chemotherapy. It seems to work better for me than Zofran did. It does cause fatigue but that is a small price to pay for not vomiting. To know more visit internationaldrugmart(dot)com(/)compazine.html

I just looked up and Compazine is the trade-name for prochlorperazine! I got a prescription of this on Friday and am getting my dad to pick it up tomorrow.

I read one research paper which found prochlorperazine to be more effective than ondansetron (zofran) for viral gastroenteritis/sv- so hopefully it's quite effective!
