I'm not particularly worried, but I'm just wondering, if cheese has gone bad, you'd know, right? I've had some shaved cheese in my fridge for a while, and it smells fine, so it's probably good to eat, yeah?

Guys, a little bit of help?
I ate the cheese, and I'm fine, but I just want to know the answer to my question. Is it really easy to tell if cheese has gone off? Is it like any other dairy?
When cheese goes off it will go hard, and get white or green furry mould on it. I don't think hard cheese spoils like milk, yoghurt, etc, because it's already been fermented. So you just have to watch for the mould. In fact, I have been told if you have a block of cheese, and it's mouldy, you can cut the mould off and eat the rest!
Oh wow, thanks for the help!
indeed, cheese shows mold when it's bad. older cheeses, the harder ones, will take forever to go bad.
