Spotted this on the BBC website today and thought some on here might find it useful. It only relates to UK food labelling so I'm afraid it won't be much use to anyone anywhere else in the world, but if you are in the UK, enjoy!

I'm in the US but I found that really enlightening. Our food is labeled the same way and I never realized there was a difference between the two.

I had noticed that- usually throw food out on the use by date. Started to relax on it though, experimenting with using milk two days after it, as long as it smells fine and no bad effects from it so far.
