Well we might as well be aware that influenza has arrived in many states. It is all over Maryland.
If you get it, here is what you can expect. First, you will have
a fever between 101 and 103 degrees. You will have body aches,
chills, all over malaise. As it progresses, you will get a thick
productive cough and a stuffy nose. This lasts for about four
full days. During those days you will feel like you were hit with
a truck. Then you start to move on the upswing. My whole
family had over the past two weeks. Some people are getting
pnuemonia or bronchitis as secondary infections to the initial virus.
Everyone in my family had an appetite during the illness. In
fact, both my daughter and I craved jellie sandwiches when we were
sick. I have no clue why because neither one of us eat them
otherwise. On Tuesday, my fever was 103.4 for most of the day
despite taking Motrim. Even though I could barely move out of
bed, when I did I ventured to the kitchen for a jelly sandwich.
If you get this you need to drink, drink, drink so that you don't dehydrate from the fever.
The good thing is once you get it, you won't get it again. But, it will not protect you against the dreaded SV.
