Is it true that if you have diarreah without vomiting, then you will
not vomit? I don't remember where I read that; it might be something my
mind is making up out of wishful thinking. Anyone?

(I have diarreah right now, really bad, and I think my nausea might just be from nerves, but I'm worried).

I hope you feel better soon! Do you have any Pepto on hand?

I took a little bit of Pepto, but it didn't work very well so I took
some Imodium as well and I'm waiting to see if that will help. (By the
way, I do NOT reccomend cherry-flavored Pepto; my fiance got it for me,
thinking it would taste better than the original flavor, and it's so
gross it actually made me more nauseated). I'm also drinking some
water, which seems to be helping the nausea a little bit.

I wish I could remember where I read that bit about diarreah and vomiting.

To be honest I think you can have either or both. If you've had diarreah for afew hoursyouprobably wouldhave been sick by now. Is it an SV or do you think it's something you've eaten?

Whatever happens just keep going! You'll be fine.

Thank you all for being around when I needed someone. I'm feeling a ton better, and the Imodium seems to have done the trick.

I don't think it's a SV, because no one else is sick and I haven't
really left the house for the last few days. Besides that, I ALWAYS run
a fever for a few hours before I feel the rest of the symptoms of
anything, whether it's a SV or just a cold, and my temperature right
now is normal. I think it's a combination of extreme stress and a
crappy diet for the last week, combined with lack of sleep.

Thanks again, you guys ^.^

You just never know. I remember having diarrhea for a week, everytime I hate it went through me! I took imoduim and it didn't help. I had enough of it, went to the clinic, he weighed me and I was down to 101 my lowest weight ever.He took some blood tests, and I had a stomach virus, finally after a few more days of this it was gone, he told me what to eat to help me. Later my father had it..... so you could have both or just the sitting on the throne!

I know you are probably feeling better.

If you get a stomach virus it is hard to tell how it will affect you because they affect each person differently. You can have either v* with no d*, just v*, just d*, or both at the same time. You dont have to run a fever with it. I know a lot of people say "Oh its not a stomach virus, I am not running a fever." That does not matter either. If you do have a TRUE stomach virus you should nottake Immodium or anything to slow it down because you need to get rid of it. I know you probably know all of this.

Sorry to ramble. I hope you are better! Keep us posted

Ugh... It's back again, and so is the nausea. It doesn't help that my
soon-to-be-ex-fiance and I have been fighting all night. I just want to
sleep

It may be anxiety related to the stress of you and your fiance. I know when my husband and I argue, I always have an upset stomach!

Hope you feel better soon!

Jess has a good point. I know when I fight with my ex it throws my stomach into a loop. Anxiety can play a number on your stomach!!

Us emets put all of our anxiety in our stomachs. Some people will get tight shoulders, headaches, backaches. We get stomach ailments. If you and you fiance are fighting, I am sure your stomach issues have to do with that. Also, I think if you have had d* for a while, the odds are against v*.

I have had one or the other, and both at the same time. Last time
I was sick I had both at the same time, but it started with v*
first. The d* came a few hours later. If it will
help, I have never had d* fisrt. It sounds like you may be
in the clear if you have not been sick by now. Let us know how
you are feeling! Carrie

Thank you again to everyone for responding; you guys really do help.

The good news is that my fiance and I are no longer fighting, and I
have not vomited. The bad news is that I'm still crampy and
uncomfortable, but that's slowly going away. Here's to hoping this
passes quickly!
