    Default need female advice...

    Hello everyone,
First off, im a guy so i might just be overreacting. But my girlfriend isn't doing well. Her period wasn't supposed to start till Wednesday and it started a week early. She is on birth control and always takes it on time. For the last 2 weeks she has been very nauseous. For several months now she has had blood in her bm*. (verified by a close doctor friend). Her mother refuses to make her a doctors appointment. Despite the close doctor friend insisting she needed to see a stomach specialist. What kind of parent does that?? Anyways being a guy this is making me very nervous. i have 2 separate worries that i need some help with. Now i know this isn't a health forum or anything, i just know a lot of you guys are very smart about such things and i value your opinions. first, how serious does this sound to you? what could it be? and second could this be an early sign of pregnancy? or am i just being a worry wart? she doesn't have any other symptoms. she has been bleeding for almost a week so i would think that would rule out implantation bleeding....idk. im just a little scared about the whole situation. anyways, what do you guys think?
thanks for any insight into this issue,
    Taylor

Hi, I'm a girl but no medical expert, but I think she should DEFINETELY go to the doctor. If I was her, I would go to a doctor with someone close for support. It is not normal, she may be pregnant, but something is not right.

    Good luck, keep us updated.

I agree she needs to see a doctor. How old is she? Has the doctor friend spoke to her mom? I don't think a pregnancy is neccessarily what is going on, but something is. The blood in her bm for this long could related to the nausea. I wouldn't panic or assume it is serious, but still something worth checking out. Has she take a pregnancy test? One option, would be to go to planned parenthood because I believe she could do that without a parent and at least someone would be able to help her.

Ive been trying to get her to a doctor. She is 17 years old. And the doctor friend has talked to her mother several times to no avail. The best she could do was she might "consider it" in a few months. That's unacceptable to me. And she didn't think its necessary to take a test since she has had her period. it just came a bit early. Im starting to agree with her about this. Especially since she has had to switch brands of birth control several times because of this. more specifically, She has cramps in the upper stomach and has had them for months. It just seems like the past week or so have been getting steadily worse and so has the nausea. Could ulcers from stress cause this sort if issues? im running out of ideas. Her mother is being a royal (insert angry swear word here) about it and wont take her to the doctor. despite the pleading from a close family doctor friend. the doctor friend isnt a stomach specialist so couldn't help figuring out whats going wrong. Thanks for your imputs, i hate seeing her like this

I am so sorry. As a parent, I can not imagine refusing to take my child to the doctor

I'm not exactly sure what the rules are where you live, but when I was 17 I was able to make myself an appointment with my gp and be treated without my parents present. I don't often encourage going behind your parents' back, but in a situation like this I would. Could the doctor friend get her an appointment?
PM me for contact info such as skype, email, or facebook. Thanks!

Yes, blood in the stool is worrisome for someone so young. It could be something as simple as an anal fissure to an ulcer or intestinal type thing like colitis. If the blood is fresh and red, it means it's lower intestine or rectal bleed. If it is dark or black, it means it's digested and from upper abdomen.

As far as her period, sounds like it's just the birth control, hormones, etc, not pregnancy. Good luck and keep us posted!

If she's got rectal bleeding and blood in her stool she should really see a doctor she should have colitis or proctitis or just hemorrhoids, but she really should have a colonoscopy.

The early period could be from stress. Has she changed her birth control? Cause nausea could be a side effect.

If she is in the USA she should be able to make her own appointment, perhaps you or her doctor friend can bring her in if she doesn't drive? I don't think she's pregnant but I'm no doctor. I know I had a period for nearly 3 months due to screwy birth control, it can definitely mess with that stuff. That being said, it could also be something more serious and she should get looked at.

Thanks guys, you have helped calm my nerves a lot. I hate pregnancy scares...anyways her mom finally made her an appointment...in a month and a half. Better than nothing i suppose. now she is freaking out because someone told her she could still have a period and be pregnant. i hate when people scare the crap out of others for no reason. anyways thanks again. you guys are awesome.
