    Question Nausea/cramping from med change?

Hi everyone. I very recently began lowering/changing my dose (with my doctor, of course) of extended-release Effexor from 75mg to 37.5mg of regular-release Effexor daily. This is day 3. I am now feeling nauseous and crampy which is giving me intense anxiety for obvious reasons. I don't know if I can deal with this as a side effect. Has anybody else had experience with this???

I'm on a different anti-depressant, but I know that lowering the dose can cause you to feel kinda gross. The effect shouldn't last too long though, probably only a couple of days until your body adjusts. I wouldn't be too worried, and it shouldn't make you v, just feel a bit off. Hope you feel better!

Lowering the dose can cause those symptoms but they should go away within 2 weeks. I know that seems like a lifetime when you're terrified! Is there a reason you switched doses and types? If there isn't a medical reason maybe you aren't ready to lower the dose? I hope you feel better. These meds are great when you're on them but Tom Petty had it right when he said that coming down was the hardest thing.
