    Default Ensures

Just wanted to post that since most of us have IBS or anxiety and lose our appetites, I have been drinking Ensures for years when I don't have an appetite but need nutrition or the calories. Has anyone else tried these as a meal replacement?

When my grandmother moved into a nursing home they told us that they don't like to give people Ensure because it causes d*. Has anyone experienced this?

I used to drink them when i couldn't tolerate food. I found them to be a lifesaver. The only negative I can say is that when I first started drinking them I found that they could be a little heavy for me. Drinking them slowly helped with this.

Yes, you must sip slowly. I think it's all the vitamins that make it feel heavy and can leave you a little nauseous if you drink it too fast. It's never given me diarrhea though. Maybe elderly people can't tolerate the sugar in it.
