I have alot of them:
- I make myself as cold as possible, to the point of shivering. The shivering provides an outlet for my nerves and gives my body something to do other than be naueated.
- I sip on water, not enough to swallow just enough to keep my mouth from getting dry
- ginger candies
- nibble on crackers if the nausea is hunger induced
- pepto bismol cherry flavored chewables
- black tea/ ginger tea
- breathe steadily
- I distract myself (tv, games, internet, etc.)
I used to take Domperidone, but I took it for so, so long that I feel the effects wore off. Now I just try to eat bland, simple food.
Ginger root capsules
cool air
and anything to distract me
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
“We are the girls with anxiety disorders, filled appointment books, five-year plans. We take ourselves very, very seriously. We are the peacemakers, the do-gooders, the givers, the savers. We are on time, overly prepared, well read, and witty, intellectually curious, always moving. We pride ourselves on getting as little sleep as possible and thrive on self-deprivation. We drink coffee, a lot of it. We are on birth control, Prozac, and multivitamins. We are relentless, judgmental with ourselves, and forgiving to others. We never want to be as passive-aggressive as our mothers, never want to marry men as uninspired as our fathers. We are the daughters of the feminists who said, “You can be anything,” and we heard, “You have to be everything.”
Other than my Zofran, I use walking, even if it is around my living room, Altoids, getting online and looking at funny sites, watching fav movie, play my games. Oh, and breathing tips therapist gave me.
Medicine- Promethazine and/or Xanax
Natural Remedy- Moving around and getting my mind on other things
Ginger (tea or candied) is my go-to remedy. Saltines help too when I feel my stomach is upset and it's not just "normal" nausea. When I was younger and feeling sick my dad always told me to eat those bright pink wintergreen mints and it did help too.
