Default Why have so many doctors not even heard of emet?!

My husband works in the medical field and comes into contact with docs of all specialties on a regular basis. He often presents my "case" with ones he knows well (constant stomach troubles / emet), and VERY VERY FEW have even heard of emetophobia. We are shocked! Especially since the latest one he spoke with is a Gastro specialist. There are a lot of people who deal with this. I am so glad that a member here is doing a dissertation-- I encourage all of us to participate in research when available. Like the gastro doc said, once the pharmaceutical companies get on board with seeing the need (i.e. market) for anti Noro vaccine / cleaning & sanitizing products / preventatives, we will be much further in our quest for "safety" . Just my thoughts...

Well, technically speaking I don't think we're "that" common. It seems that way because we're a lot of people on the forum but when you compare that to the general population.. and the fact most people here are afraid to bring it up, well. o_o But I do agree that it wouldn't hurt if it was better known, they might "take advantage" of our fear for business purposes, but it would help us feel safer. I'd LOVE to have a noro vaccine!
