Well, I'd like to ask, is anyone else kinda afriad of winding roads (like mountain ones)for their tendency to cause motion sickness in some people? I am. One time, in fifth grade, the teacher actually had people share stories of MOTION SICKNESS! What the heck was she thinking? Does she like hearing about people vomiting or something? Anyways, some of them were about mountain roads, so I missed this one camp for fifth graders called "Camp Hi-Hill" because I was afriad of the road. Also, I have never gotten to try to ski or snowboard because of my fear of carsickness. However, on Monday, I went on a winding road, and it was not so bad. Now, I will go up to mountains and stuff. So, is anyone else afriad of them?

Yes! As a girl, and frequently now, I used to climb the mountains that surrounded the city of San Diego, California. The winding roads were absolutely treacherous, and often times I did get car sickness from them. But it's not just the roads, necessarily. It also depends on how fast the driver is putting the petal to the metal. If they're just practically flying around the sharp corners and turns, then definitely that will stir up some nausea (as it has done to me).

I've gotten over that little paranoia, but those roads will always remain in my bad memories!

I have also felt motion sickness from going over mountain tops and winding roads, but i've heard that you can prevent it if you focus on the line in the middle of the road, instead of on the curves.. I've tried it and I suppose it does work for me, but I also find sitting in the front seat isnt as bad as being at the back and looking out the windows!

Its the same for sea sickness, if you focus on a certain point on the horizon while you are on a boat, its supposed to prevent you from getting sea sick.. I'm not going to try that one though, i've had sea sickness and its an awful feeling!

When I had to take my son to the specialist on Monday morning we were on that kind of road but to tell you the elevator freaked me out I was clinging on to my son's arm, when we got to the floor I swear my head went with it. Felt like my feet left the floor, going down was no prize!!!

I live in Georgia so it isn't uncommon for me to take a day trip up to
the mountains. I don't much like the curvy roads but they've never made
    me motion sick.

If I'm bothered at all it's usually by deeper vibrations like on busses
or cruise ships. I'm not certain myself about the cruise ships, but
I've been told by people who have been on them that it's similar.

I don't necessarily get motion sickness but I get nervous about it because I know so many people do, so just that causes me anxiety and makes me feel sick. Cars don't bother me as bad because I know I can stop and get out if I need to but airplanes, traines, boats etc...I feel trapped and that makes me panic. I need ot have some form of control.

Elevators scare me so much. Not so much for that it could, weirdly, cause motion sickness or anything like that in some people. Rather, I am afriad it will just stop and I'll die and rot in it. Most likely, that will not happen, but I am afraid that is one stops, it will be a place where people will not notice it and I'll be in there for a long time.

I am going to be going to two hotels in July in Las Vegas where the elevators go up many stories, and I am freaked out by them, because, what if there is a power outage or something? That has happened at the Bellagio hotel, but I do not think anyone got stuck on any elevators. They might have had a backup power supply for the elevators.

I am scared of everything that could possibly make me sick (boats, planes, winding roads) but not often does it ever make me sick. I probably worry for nothing most of the time...

My DH and I went on a cruise for the first time last winter. He didn't feel well for a few days, but was okay for the rest of it (we had a really rough trip for a few days, I was told this was worse than usual). I was fine, but was nervous the whole time that I might get sick.

I used to get car sick all the time when I was little, and absolutely hated going in the car. Now, I don't mind it so much, since usually it's just my DH and I. I understand about busses, planes, etc., and feel the same way.

This is so weird, but I am afraid that an elevator will lose its cables and just start falling really fast and not stop. I have dreams about it all the time.
