Default Does anyone else have a thyroid condition?

I was diagnosed with thyroiditis caused by Graves disease a few months ago. I've been taking medication for those few months and I still seem to have these random episodes of extreme fatigue and tremors. It's incredibly disturbing to my life, but it's also so hard to deal with Emetophobia and anxiety at the same time. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem or a similar problem. It's very frustrating. I was having a good morning and trying to stay positive and not focus on anxiety and then all of a sudden I became very fatigued and emotional. Anyway, I'd love to hear from others

Yeah, I do. Not so sure "what" thyroid condition I have now, though. I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's and I was hypo for two years, then out of the blue this fall I started being hyper and now my doctor (a different one than the one who first diagnosed this) said I don't have any auto-immune disease but most likely I had viral thyroiditis that gave me a hypo phase for two years. Go figure. I'm going to see a specialist and try to sort this out, but I had to stop my hypo meds. I can relate about the fatigue and tremors, thyroid imbalance can wreck havoc on the body in general and if you're not carefully dosed to have just the right amount of hormone for you, you'll feel like crap. It does stabilise eventually, but it's SUCH a hassle. And I totally understand how it causes anxiety both because it's a sympto of hyperthyroidism and also because it affects the digestive system so much so it gives even more cause for an emet to worry about those "changes". But hang in there! Once your treatment stabilises then you'll feel normal again

Iv`e been diagnosed with High TSH levels, which mean that I have a slightly underactive thyroid, & have been given sime medication for it, I didn`t have any obvious symptoms, & I don`t know why I have the condition, because I tested negative for Hashimoto`s disease.

My aunt had a completely inactive thyroid. She got cold easily. Her fingertips were sometimes blue. She got tired easily and gained a lot of weight. The good news is they have medication for this condition and if you have gained some weight from it, most likely you will lose it. Please stay on your medication and do not deviate from your doctor's orders. My aunt ignored her problem for many years and IMO it's what lead to the heart attack that took her life a few years ago.

Aw, that's sad to hear It is so easy to treat, too. I agree that it is best to follow the doctor's orders, but when you start to feel "abnormal" it's necessary to consult right away even when not due for a check. I had been stable for two years on the same dose of meds and all of a sudden I started getting tremors, increased heart rate, muscle weakness... so it's good to be aware of both hypo and hyper symptoms and see a doctor to get the dosage adjusted when necessary. And yes, once properly treated it is easy to get back to a normal weight.

when i was a teenager i had hyperthyroidism.....had a partial thyroidectemy at age 21.....and at age 44 became hypothyroid. it can take several tries to get the dosage correct on your thyroid meds.....it's annoying and amazing just how many different things your thyroid can affect. hope you get everything stabilized soon and start to feel good again......
    how i feel about emet
