Anyone else notice every time you get sick with even a cold your ibs acts up? Seems thats been the case with me since july. I have a bad cold but lots of cramps and nausea to. My kids and wife have the cold but no GI symptoms.

I have IBS too and I know exactly what you mean. This is because postnasal drip from allergies or a cold can get into your stomach and upset your digestive tract. Also, colds are a systemic virus so just as they can cause inflammation in your sinuses they can cause inflammation in other mucous membranes like your intestines, further upsetting the IBS.

I find that keeping something on my stomach, even it it's just crackers, can help the postnasal drip issue. Of course, that's also with pumping myself full of decongestants.
