Can you get the stomach flu from..

So Yesterday morning I went down to my grandmas to help her with her computer. She made me breakfast and I left about an hour later. Later yesterday night my pap got the flu. He didn't show any symptoms when I was there and nor did my grandma. Is there anyway I can contract it? My grandma is not sick just my pap. I read somewhere you can only contract the virus if symptoms start to show.

And even then, if youre very lucky and careful with that person you might not get it...Ive used the same bathroom as someone in my family ten years ago who had a bad bug...Im not sure if I caught it as I was unwell 5/6 days after but only with d*.
