Hello,

I've always wanted a career that helps people and have always wanted to be in the medical field. I originally wanted to be a PA and just changed to Occupational Therapy. The problem is I have emetophobia. I'm currently working on my undergrad in hopes to apply to OT programs. My questions are mostly about my phobia. I understand that any job in the medical field can be dirty at times, but how often do the actual Occupational Therapists deal with vomit? I think as long as I'm not around when it happens or don't have to clean it up I'll be ok. Lately my anxiety has been pretty bad because I feel like I won't be able to succeed in my goals because of my phobia. As an OT, how often do you encounter vomit and how do you deal with it? I really need some advice. I hope I can get some real answers. Thank you!
