can taking 600mg ibuprofen every 6 hours make me sick??

I have been having bad stomach pain from my "monthly visitor" lately, and the doctor said to take 600mg ibuprofen every 6 hours. i took some earlier at like 11 and i took some just now before dinner. as i was eating i started feeling n. not sure if its just anxiety or the meds are making me sick.. to be honest i don't feel like taking this much pain meds is safe but whatever...

I've had 800 mg every 6-8 hours. 600 every 6 isn't dangerous. Try a heating pad and a glass of milk!

It wouldn't hurt you as long as you make sure to eat before taking it. It's more likely that your period is causing the queasiness.

Yes, I agree to take it with food. Your stomach will get used to the ibuprofen soon. Doug

Just take it with food so it doesn't hurt your stomach and you'll be fine. I got my tongue pierced 2 weeks ago and I was taking 400 mg of Advil 3 times a day but always with food. i was fine

I agree with others. I had to take lots of ibuprofen with my cycles when they used to happen. I would get a stomachache if I took it without eating for a time. With food, even just crackers, it stops the belly pain. I used to get nausea from the bad pains all day, for days. Pain, especially bad pain, can cause nausea and sometimes vomiting.
