Okay so today I went on a kayaking trip with some people from school.

It was 3 hours on a river. I got splashed around the face several times
and I even capsized once while going over one section, so I'm sure some
of it got into my mouth and nose.

I also drank from someone else's water bottle. Shocking I know, but I
lost mine and after 3 hours in 80 degree weather I was despirate for a
drink. I was actually concerned that I might be in big trouble if I got
too dehydrated so when one of the guys offered to let me have some of
his water I drank some.

I'm sore now, I got a big patch of sunburn on my leg where I forgot to
put sunscreen, and I can sort of like still feel the motion of the
boat. For these reasons plus the whole accidentally swallowing a few
drops of river water and intentionally swallowing a few mouth fulls of
water that someone else already drank from....I'm pretty scared that I
might get sick.

But hey I mean I managed to do all that stuff. That's atleast something right?

Good for you doing all that! I am impressed!!

You won't get sick. In fact I think you'll realize a few days from now that the "danger" has passed (lol) and you'll be so proud of yourself and look back on today with nothing but happiness .

I am sure you are fine. I am sure the guy that let you have a drink, wasn't out kayaking while he was sick. Also, many, many, times...I have swam in lakes and rivers. I remember swallowing gallons (well, seemed like it) of lake water when I was getting dragged on the water ski rope...lol!!! If the lake water wasn't fit to swallow, they would have had danger signs, and no water sports/swimming signs all over. You will be fine!!

Yay for having fun and not letting emet stand in your way!!!!! Charlotte

The only river that I have ever panicked about swallowing was the Charles River right next to my house, which, up until a few years ago, was polluted. And guess what? Before it was de-polluted, I fell in! And nothing happened to me. Also, There are signs if it is too polluted to swallow, like there were signs on the river for a while. You will be fine! Same with the water bottle thing...kayaking is such an athletic sport that if someone felt sick, that someone probably wouldn't go.
