    hey all..

my mum is a nurse and since im seeing a new guy recently shes given me
the 'i know how careful u are when it comes to things like this but if
u ever feel unsure and want the aftermorning pill i can easily get it
for u from the hospital' talk,... the first thing i say to her is 'but
mum it makes u sick! im never taking that!' (she knows bout my emet
obviously).. she just plainly says 'yes it does but sometimes these are
precautions u hav to take'.. and naturally i start freaking out inside
thnking about if i ever hav to take it if its going to make me sick..

i just wanted to know has anyone on here ever NOT gotten sick from it
or how sick does it make u? just some info from some chickies who hav
taken it before wud be great so i can hav peace at mind knowing wot to
expect if that horrible day comes when i hav to take it!!

I took it 4 years ago and had the same fears as you but I was fine. I took it just before bed, then set my alarm to wake me to take the second pill and then went back to sleep and woke up feeling fine and very relieved. I hope I never have to take it again because it is a huge dose compared to the pill and it makes you wondr what it is doing to your body. Obviously its always best to take precautions so you never find yourself in the situation of needing it but accidents happen!!!
Today is the tomorrow I dreaded yesterday and I\'m ok.

Well, just think of the alternative: MORNING SICKNESS!!!!! Now, I have been pregnant 3 times and never v'ed, but I did feel nauseous plenty!! 1 time with the pill vs. multiple times during pregnancy.

I have taken it on two occasions and felt fine. Maybe a little nausea, but that was most likely anxiety. Much better to take precautions beforehand, though, than worry about the morning after pill (when I had to take it, I used precautions, but the darn thing broke!)

I heard it affects about half of all women that way, but you can take gravol with it and that might help.

Never took the morning after pill so I cannot speak from experience, but what is the alternative? Are you ready for a child and possible morning sickness? The likelihood of morning sickness is greater than the nausea associated with the pill.

What the morning-pill does is decrease the progesterone in your body which is needed at high levels early in a pregnancy to support the pregnancy. Once the progesterone drops, the miscarriage occurs. Actually, the morning after pill keeps a possible conception from ever implanting into the uterus because the uterus does not have sufficient progesterone. A little nausea may occur, but nothing dramatic. You can take something for it. My guess is it would be very short-lived.

Unfortunately, I have done it 2x. Once was about 8 years ago, and the other was about 4. I have heard they have lowered the dose since then, and people are less likely to get sick.

The first time I took it, I did the same thing with the alarm, and mostly slept through the whole thing. But, I had plenty of pepto at the bedside, just in case!

The second time, my doctor reccomended that I take dramamine with each pill. It helped me sleep, helps relax me, and I never felt sick.

It made me feel a bit paranoid to have to do all this prep in advance, but it was better than how spastic and twitchy I would have felt if I had felt sick...
