Last time I ate this pasta, which is basically pasta with a powdered sauce in a packet, I woke up in the night and felt really really ill. I went to the toilet, thinking I was going to be sick, but kept just gagging. Euch, nasty experience.

Anyway, today I ate the exact same pasta for the first time since then, because I was round my friend's house, she offered it, and I knew I wasn't getting any other food, so I gladly accepted lol.

I do feel sick now, even though I haven't been worrying. I've kinda come to terms with the fact that it is possible i'm ill tonight, or I spend a lot of time dry heaving. I'm wondering if this does happen what the cause behind it could be? I often feel sick after eating bread and certain types of cheese (mozzarella because it's kinda harder and stringier than cheddar), not the kind of sick feeling I have every day, but more a sudden "going to be sick" kind of feeling.

It's been suggested I have sinus problems or allergies, because I have like post nasal drip, but it's annoying me. I think the most annoying part is the waiting. I'm always sick at night so i've spent a day preparing mentally for it to happen.Edited by: s0ccer_princess

i can't eat a lot of different cheeses either or I feel very sick. I do have allergy and sinus trouble too. Try not to think about it and relax and maybe you can get through this. We EMET's are tough and we fight for not V*ing....you can do this and be fine.

Feel better and I'm sorry you feel so yuck, but I bet it will go away.

Maybe you have difficulty digesting dairy, or a common ingredient in different cheese products. It could be possible that you have a food allergy. I dunno, just something you may want to mention to the doctor.

    I agree with Tayda.

And why did you eat that again!!!

There are specialists who deal strictly with food allergies so if you
want to see someone about it, you don't have to go to a regular ENT's
    office

    I agree with everyone here...kinda.

So I'll bring in another perspective even if its useless

Sometimes, you worry and have anxiety attacks subconcously, or at least
without knowing it (according to my therapist, who doesn't know very
much, so I'm not quite sure if she's right) so maybe the nausea you
feel now is anxiety, and the previous time was simply an isolated
    incident.

But don't take my word for it.. because the others are more knowledagble

In any case.. hope all is okay. </font>

    Thanks all

We got in and her father said: "I've got some pasta cooking, you want some?" and I said yes, then saw the packets in the bin and realised it was the same one I got ill kind of from.

That worried me, but I never let myself miss meals, I love food too much and I get a bit shaky when I miss meals. So I ate it, (it tasted delicious..) and worried a bit, but in the end I just thought: if i'm going to be sick, i'm going to be sick. I'm not going to ruin my day over it.

I think this one didn't have a creamy sauce, like the one I got ill from, therefore a minor lactose intollerancy could be the answer. The doc suggested an allergy test but I'm a bit nervous about needles, so I was a bit reluctant. I think I will go for it soon though, because since I had injections in my gum at the dentist (which did hurt, I will say), I have become a bit hardened to normal injections in your arms.

I can even say that today I opened up the cupboard and found the same pasta again, whichI told my mother to throw out, but I even considered eating it today! In the end I didn't, because I thought that might be pushing it a bit. That made me smile slightly though.

It sounds like your allergic to dairy...or lactose intollerant. Don't keep eating it! Go to your doctor and get tested. Thats what I did, because I can't eat dairy either.
    I love Sam

Ah, you see, the problem is that I dislike needles completely. I mean I know allergy tests are only supposed to be literally pin-pricks (not like at the dentist when they tell you that's gonna be a pin-prick and it's actually really painful :P), but I still have my doubts. I mean it will still hurt, even if it's only for a few seconds, and I'm kinda worried bout it.

Oh I don't know. My hip is really hurting too and I'm getting bad headaches, so a trip to the doctor might be in order anyway. I could do it.

Am I weird from pretty much stopping eating b/c I'm afraid that I will get the SV (that is going around in my house) and I don't want to ruin my taste for that food?

This is a dumb question, but what was the pasta brand? I mean,
was it pot noodle or something? I'm from the UK too, and can't think
what type of pasta and powdered sauce you mean! It's bugging me!

Glad you're feeling better now, and that you beat a little bit of your fear. One step at a time...

Nope! They even suggest that while you are undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, you should not eat your favourite foods because you are going to get ill anyway, and you might be put off.

As for the not eating, it's common for emets to stop eating when they think there's a chance of ill, because they believe that the less there is in your stomach, the less there is to expel, therefore if you eat nothing, there is nothing to expel and the need is taken away.
