Hey guys, I have been reading posts (hit and miss), and seen a few IBS ones. I too went through IBS hell for 2.5 years. One thing I have'nt seen here is mention of any medications.....is anyone on any? My Dr. started me out on "Dyclomine" to take 3 times daily before each meal. I also had Tagmet to take before bed each nite. I can remember many times waking up at like 3 am and it feeling like a knife in my lower left side (sigmoid colon). About a year later, my Dr prescribed me an antidepressiant called "Effexor", and my problems deminished. To date, I feel Im over the major part. I use to weigh in at 145 lbs, and now I am 198lbs. I have since that time added many more meds like "Busphar" for anxiety, and others for my back pain. I dont really worry about barfing anything like I use to. I mean, it is still in the back of my mind, but seems the only time it really bothers me is when I get "real" sick. I dont have any fals feelings either. Whats everyone else's situation?

I take mebeverine which is similar to urs. I take it 3 times a day, 20 mins before ieat. Its very good and works very well. I used to get scared of side affects but as i've taken it and been ok I'm a bit more confident taking it
