Thread: Big Problem!

    Default Big Problem!

So I've been suffering with acid reflux for about the last three years. And lately I've been having this problem where I burp excessively. Like, it's insane. And they aren't huge burps and then it's over. It's like little tiny ones that go on for hours and hours at a time. When this happens, I get extremely n* and then continue to be for the rest of the day. Any emet would know that that is like the worst thing possible. I'm not sure if it's acid reflux or what it is and I'm freaking out. It's been going on for almost two months and it's basically ruining my life. Which brings me to another problem. I really want to go to the doctor about it but since I'm 17 my Mom has to go with me and every single time we go to the doctor she gets a sv*. I don't know why but she does and I've already dealt with that 4 times this year and I'm sure all my fellow emets can understand how hard it is living in a house with someone who has a sv*. So basically no matter what I do, I'm screwed. I'm just so stressed out!

Huh that's weird! She always gets sick when she goes to the Dr? Maybe someone else can take you? you probably need to have some type of upper GI series to see if you have any ulcers esophageal erosion. I had to take that test a few weeks ago and everything came back fine.famotidine once a day should help with any type of reflux.

Well if you think you have acid reflux or GERD, then you need to see a specialist anyway. You might call your primary doctor and have them recommend a GI doctor to see, less chance of picking up a bug there.

Seeing a gastro specialist is your best bet. You'll need a referral to get in (at least here you do) from your GP. Idk if they will do it without seeing you. Maybe look up gastroenterologists in your area and make some calls to see.
