And all I had to do was ask! With minimal explanation on my part my
dr. gave me a script for 30 pills, and I even have a refill for it!! I figure
60 pills should last about a lifetime for me!! It's amazing, I feel so
much more relaxed just knowing that if my kids or hubby get ill, or I
start coming down with a sv, that I've got these little pills to help me
    through it!

Oh please elaborate - what was your explanation? I mentioned to my new doctor that I was emetophobic but he didn't care to discuss and I think that's because he was totally clueless.

Well, I started therapy this week. Long story short, I thought I'd be
seeing a psychologist, and I will be eventually, but she's got a 3
month waiting list. So I just saw a therapist instead, to get me from
now until then. She thought it would be a great idea for me to have
a bottle of phenegren so I'd feel safer and more in control. I set up
an appointment with my OB/GYN because I don't have a general
    doctor.

I told him that I'm having a lot of anxiety (I am), and that when I
have a bad panic attack I get very n*, and I have a fear of v*, so
that makes my panic attack worse because I think I will v*, then
panic more, then get more n* -- I just told him that it's a horrible
cycle. He agreed and asked if I wanted anxiety drugs. I told him I'd
rather have phenegren because if I can stop the n* and know that I
won't v* my anxiety goes way down. And that I'd rather take a pill
when I need it vs. taking a pill every day. He agreed, and asked if a
script for 30 with one refill would be enough, and that if I needed
more to call him and he'll write me another script, as long as I don't
abuse it i.e. take it every day even if I don't feel ill. And I won't. I
also told him that I'm in therapy and he was pleased, and wanted to
help out any way he could. He assured me that phenegren would
stop me from v* for any reason, so to not take it if I'd been drinking
    - that that's the time that v* can be necessary.

I feel so much better - I can get a sv and be relatively sure that I
    won't v* from it!

Wow I'm stunned that they didn't want to prescribe the anti-anxiety meds instead. You don't take them everyday, or at least ones like ativan or xanax, only when needed. Did he say you could give them to your family if they needed them?

    Well, I wouldn't give them to the kids. I think that if I know I won't v*
I'll be able to handle their illnesses better. Plus, my pediatrician is very
good about prescribing anti-emetics for kids if they've been v* for over
6 hours. I wouldn't give them anything without my peds approval. But
my hubby could take the phenegren if he needed to. It's a 25 mg dose
and he's bigger than I, so it's not like he'd overdose on it. I don't plan
on having to take it for panic attacks really, because I know it's just a
panic attack and I'm not really ill. But I love that I have them onhand
    for illness.

Well I'm happy for you that you got them. I'm sure your husband can take them with little problem if he would. My husband wouldn't, he'd tell me it was his bodies way of coping and not to screw with mother nature. Not me...I'd take it in a heartbeat!

Wow, that's amazing. I've been thinking a lot about this recently.
Maybe I'll be able to get some to help out with my anxiety also.

    Thanks for telling us, peachy!

Yes Girl, Phenegren is the bomb. You can also get the suppositories, my husband got a sv the Monday after Christmas, I gave him a pill right after he v'd and he did not do it again and it made him sleep for hours. All of my doctors in the past have given them to me just because I tell them that I feel better having them around for viruses.
