    i've read that svs are contageous from the time a person begins
    feeling ill til 3 days later. is this true? when is a sv contageous?

    Centers of Disease Control say that you are contagious from the onset of symptoms and the virus can be shed up to 72 hours after - BUT can be shed for as long as 2 weeks in the stool. I am sure that the virus would be a little harder to catch in the 2 week period though.

    Yep, i think your right there. I dont think i know any humans that go around eating from toilets.Edited by: billyboy

    yes, but unfortunately it's not eating from toilets that's the problem. it's people who have been sick and are still shedding the virus in their stools, who go to the bathroom and then don't wash their hands.


    on the other hand, it's all different for different viruses.
