ondansetron dosage, please help!

yesterday I felt so off and restless and finally I was struck with n* around 3 a.m. it came on pretty fast and I knew something was up so I took one 4mg ondansetron (chewed and pressed under tongue). After 10 minutes it wasn't working so I took another 4mg dose and eventually calmed down. Unfortunately I just started to feel waves of n* and I was wondering if anyone has ever taken zofran/ondansetron throughout the day when they suspected having an sv*?

Yes, I have, it's saved me a couple of times.. Just watch out for the constipation that comes with it.
