How long is norovirus contagious?

Hello,
I know you can shed the virus for up to a few weeks, but some articles say you don't really shed enough to really spread the virus. So are you really most contagious during the active showing symptoms part? And as time passes you get less and less contagious? How long do you think that is? 1 day after symptoms? 3 days?

I think it’s safe to say people are the most contagious when they are the most ill, and contagion decreases as they get better. That being said, I always go by the 2 week rule to be safe.
