I was thinking about how much it helps to meet with people with this phobia who live nearby. If you live in a large place, t's quite easy to find out who lives near you, but if you live in smaller places you often don't hear about it.
Then I suddenly remembered Frappr. For those who don't know what it is, basically when you join it, you add the town or rough area where you live. Then you can join groups, and each group has its own map of the world. As each member joins, their location is shown on the map.
So for example if you came from Milan, you would register with them, and say you come from Milan. You would join a group- say a fan club of your favourite band. It would then add a little marker where Milan is and show your account name there.
It is pretty private, and if you don't want to be specific- you don't have to. You can just give a rough location, or maybe a large city nearby to where you are. I'll make it private for now, but maybe we could possibly make it public later and encourage more people to join?
