Im in NorCal!! Finally someone else..

I think you will be fine as long as you are careful. Try not to use the same bathroom as her if you can. I am sure you will be fine. She might have just had a bad reaction to something she ate. People react differently, and her friend may have not caught the bad part of the meal. You are gonna be just fine.. Wash your hands if you need to work with her again.

Take Care!

I don't think you will get it. It was mighty rude of her coughing in your face!! Just do what tink suggested and you will be fine. Use hand sanitizer.

SV* is contagious for 2 days after the last symptom ceases. I was
just researching and reading about it. You can catch it from a
sneeze, or if someone v* in the room. It is attached to liquid (saliva,
bodily fluid). I just read a really interesting article on it. The
coughing in your face is just AWFUL!!!! That doesn't mean you will
get it, and if you do it doesn't mean you will v*. This probably
supports the neg traits of emet but here's my way of thinking. If I
KNOW I am exposed to sv* I eat VERY lightly for about 3 days and
then after that, I know I'min the clear.

The symptoms of norovirus illness usually include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and some stomach cramping. Sometimes people additionally have a low-grade fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, and a general sense of tiredness. The illness often begins suddenly, and the infected person may feel very sick. The illness is usually brief, with symptoms lasting only about 1 or 2 days. In general, children experience more vomiting than adults. Most people with norovirus illness have both of these symptoms.
How long are people contagious?

People infected with norovirus are contagious from the moment they begin feeling ill to at least 3 days after recovery. Some people may be contagious for as long as 2 weeks after recovery. Therefore, it is particularly important for people to use good hand-washing and other hygienic practices after they have recently recovered from norovirus illness.

LOL, I don't exactly call 2 days being sick "brief". I can't beleive your co worker was coughing on you. I would have been furious!!! People have no manners anymore, and that makes me sad. With all of the different viruses going around these days, people should have respect for others by being hygenic when they are sick. I wish everyone would think like us emets!!!!

Is there any chance she had food poisoning and then had allergy problems, which was causing her cough? I'm just trying to be "optimistic" here

I am sure you will be fine. I think it can take up to a week to get a virus once you are exposed to it, but I really doubt you will catch anything. Just keep eating normally and stay healthy. You will be fine..

Are you by any chance a Rancid fan? I love those guys. Out Come the Wolves is the best..

Her ulcer could have a lot to do with it. Some people just get sick easily, and we do not. Try to remain calm.. I am sure you will be just fine. Just go about your normal routine, and stay healthy!

So, you are in Northern Cal? I am over in Marin.. How about you?

That is so cool. I have never met anyone with emets before. We
should so talk, I know how it is to need support, and I can give
it to, because I have been there!
