Hey guys it has been awhile. I missed you all terribly.

I have a big problem (or 2) and right now need some help fast please.

Hubby and I went out for ice cream and all was fine until I took a bite of my ice cream and noticed a very small piece of the plastic spoon had broken off.. It was smaller than the size of a thumbtack (about a quarter or half the size of the top part of a thumb tack or push pin)... right after I finished eating. Here is the thing. I think I might have eaten it!!! I am so scraed. Is this going to kill me or tear my organs open or cause me to get really sick? Can my body digest alright and pass it fine? I am so scared!!!

In addition to above I wanted to let you know what happened since I was active here.

I moved across country and lost net for awhile. I am back and have since been to the doctor and been diagnosed with OCD, panic disorder, GAD and bipolar but I am working hard at overcoming it. I have been having BAD paranoia lately and it seems so unbearable at times. My husband bless him tries to be supportive but he gets angry or frustrated alot because he can;t seem to help me and cannot really truly understand. I wish i could stop these stupid ideas. I still have a HUGE fear of drugs or posion and am very emet but have no clue how to handle it...

I wouldn't worry too much! If the piece was small enough and you didn't feel it in your throat, you should be fine. If you were swallowing the piece and it felt sharp then I'd be a bit concerned. Other than that, don't worry. I hope you feel better soon and remember that we're always here for you to chat!

Nah, I'm pretty sure you'd know if you'd eaten a peice of plastic, and
even on the off chance that you did swallow a teeny tiny peice I would
assume that if it were too small for you to feel it going down then
your body should have no problem passing it all the way through. You'll
    be just fine, trust me.

You said you've been to a doctor who diagnosed you with...multiple
problems. Well what sort of treatment did the doctor recommend? I'm not
big on anti-depressants or medications like that. I've been offered
them several times for emet and refused, but since you have so many
things it sounds like you might find them helpful.

Hang in there! Try your best to relax, and I hope you feel better soon.

I can't help you with what you've been diagnosed with... at least, you know what you for sure have now... sorry, I really know nothing about those though. But, as for the spoon, I'm sure you'll be fine ^_^ that doesn't seem like it would hurt you Espescially if it's that small, it won't hurt you

I don't think you have to worry. If a piece of something is smaller than an inch, emergency medicine generally lets it pass through. The only thing that requires "urgent evacuation" (ahem) are button batteries. You might call a poison control center or emergency room if you want further reassurance.

    Thank you all so much.

We ate about 2 or 2 and a half hours ago wouldn't it already be hurting me if it was going to anyway?

you have alot to deal with on your plate. but, it can be helped. The good news is that because your disorders have similar symptoms, if you choose to take medication, you won't have to take a bunch of different kinds.

It really suprises me that your doc would diagnose you with all these disorders. General Anxiety disorder, panic disoder, and OCD are all similar, but usually the most prevelant one is given for a diagnosis.

May I ask which type of Bi polar disorder you were diagnosed with? There is type 1 and type 2)Im hoping it is the much less extreme form of the two. The paranoria is not your fault. remember, you have a mood disorder, and that means you can't help these uncontrollable thoughts and feelings. I can't imagine what you are going through! you are certainly not alone.

I think you should continue to see your doctor, he or she will be able to come up with the best treatment plan for you.
