this past sunday i was in lansing michigan..
i ate a carabbas italian grill for lunch.. because i'd never been there and it
was good. it tasted good anyways..

and just today..randomly searching for where norovirus outbreaks are...
saw that.. THE SAME EXACT RESTAURANT.. last month.. had 400 people
sick from sick coworkers preparing food.
there are lawsuits being filed and everything.

i am freaking out horribly!! absolutely awful!!
just my luck! the ONEEEEEEEEEEEE place that i eat had an outbreak a few
    weeks before i came. INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i get to worry for another few days! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I am sure that if this happened a couple of weeks ago and the resturant is facing lawsuits they are more than carefull right now.
Carabbas is one of my favorite places to eat. I have never had a problem with eating there. Try hard to not think too much about it. I know it's hard.

Listen honey if that place has lawsuits coming out the wazzu then you can bet it's probably the cleanest place to eat right now. It will have been inspected most probably before it was allowed to stay/re-open but the food standerds people. Also Norovirus is VERY quick to hit so you'd probably know by now if you had it. Chances are if you're fine tomorrow then you're absolutely fine.
Be courageous, believe in yourself, and be the best woman you can be. I'm with you all the way.

It is no doubt the best place to eat right now since they are smacked with all those lawsuits, plus, it was a few weeks back which means it is well sanitized and perfectly clean now. I would be very surprised if you have anything to worry about!!!

I agree. If this was something that happened a while ago, and it was in the news, and there are lawsuits, I am sure the are very clean now.

    liz28,

Is there specific websites you go to to research where recent outbreaks have been? I would like to know how to research that.

    okay..

i called the managers of the restaurant today.. my bf and i BOTH did..
and they reassured us that everything was fine now and there is nothing to worry about (of cuorse they would say that!)..
but then it was said that they just had a recent health inspection since the incident and were awarded cleanestrestaurant in town. they also said it was almost a month since it happened.
    whatevvver....
that doesnt mean their EMPLOYEES are clean. ugh.

    i googled "norovirus outbreaks"
and clicked some links here and there
and it took me to a national page. hope you can find it.Edited by: liz28

I definitely agree with what hippychick said. After all, they do want to protect the reputation of their restaurant! I'm sure that you will be fine. I wouldn't be suprised if they had implemented some stricter cleaning/staff procedures after the incident.

I live in Lansing and that restaurant is around the corner from my house...

I posted something on it when it happened. But yes, everyone is saying
now is the time to eat at Carrabba's because you KNOW it is the cleanest
    place in town.

I still think they should go out of business within the year. How
irresponsible of them to let a sick employee work. Boils my blood.

Anyway, if you're close enough to Lansing we should hang out some time!
I can think of a place we WON'T want to meet at!

i stayed at the hampton inn in lansing! ha!(i live 2 hours straight south)

i have been going nuts in my head all day.
but have calmed down because i truly doubt i could catch something
after an incident like THAT. why would they jeopardize something like that AGAIN.
especially thanks to all your replies.
i found out about it while i was searching the net during class..
and i freaked out so much i had to leave 3 different timesto go get fresh air.

it really makes me question the entire cleanliness of restaurants in general.
chi-chi's closed because they infectedtons and tonsand four people died..of hepatits A! from the peppers in the salsa. do you all remember that???

i told my bf today that from now on we are going to be cooking and preparing our OWN food. no more freakin restaurants. you put your trust in these places to provide you with a hearty healthy clean meal. and they can easily easily screw up.

    lesson learned.
