I felt nothing. I was just fine. Then all of a sudden I began retching and got cramps in my mouth and throat as if I was about to vomit. Only because I had such a strong will not to vomit, I didnt.

Then after a couple of minutes I began feeling nauseated and this did not decrease. This just got stronger and stronger.

I was then convinced that this is a virus and not anxiety.

So I took some Metoclopramide and after about an hour the nausea ceased.

When this pill stops working after 8 hours, will I then have to take another pill? Will this come out no matter what? Is Metoclopramide only delaying the vomiting?

As far as I know, the virus will still run its course, it won't sit dormant waiting for th enausea pills to stop working...but it may take a few days so you may have to be on meds for awhile until the nausea passes...good luck an dtake care...

Sounds like a terrible experience... do keep us posted on how you are doing. Maybe your body was just reacting to something you ate or drank - hopefully it isn't the stomach bug.

Really, I dont know. Every time I just felt a bit nauseated I took antiemetics.
So I cant tell you!

Yesterday I ate BBQ spareribs with BBQ sauce and fried freedom fries.

But I think that was because these pills work so good so I cant feel any nausea...
But I dont know...

Have you contacted anyone else you know who ate the same thing or contacted the resturant?

Is there anyway this could be caused by anxiety? I know I've gagged before through sheer anxiety and then after gagging of course you would get nauseated. Really if you were gonna be ill no anti emetic in the world would stop it if you were eating ribs and stuff, it just wouldn't work that way.
Be courageous, believe in yourself, and be the best woman you can be. I'm with you all the way.

Well, people tell me that it is pure anxiety. It all started by sudden gagging.
Then I got nauseated. Then I became afraid. Then I got more nausea. Then I took anti-emetics.

Today I still have some sort of nausea-like feelings. But I also have constipation, last time I was on toilet was 4-5 days ago.

My doctor has told me that my constipation is psychosomatic.

I really dont know what to believe. I just want it to go away.

You are MORE than stress, anxiety, constipation and emetophobia. Right now, list some of the good things you are. I'll be looking for your post.

Oh and PS, constipation almost ALWAYS makes me n*. Try to eat some fiber every day and not just ribs and fries hee hee anybody would feel a little funky after that!

I don't think that's necessarily true. My friend was in hospital
a few years ago for some really serious spinal surgery. After the
op she got something (she was still in hospital - it might have been
from the drugs she was on) and it made her feel incredibly sick.
As she had staples all the way up her back, there was no way the
doctors were gonna let her v*, she could have ended up with serious
damage to her back. So they gave her some anti-emetics and she
said it was like magic - the nausea just went away completely.

Likewise, the anti-emetics I'm on work wonderfully, and have (so far)
always suppressed any nausea. V* is controlled by your nervous
system/brain, not the stomach, and so it is actually quite easy to stop
it happening.
