God, this hasn't happened in a while. To put it into context, I haven't
eaten much lately, just because I ate my fill yesterday afternoon and
haven't had much chance to eat today. Additionally, I have a cold - as
have all of my family members that I live with - and woke up with a
scratchy throat. None of them have thrown up. Only my boyfriend and he
didn't have the same symptoms as we have been having.

So I was typing away on my paper - I'd just closed the IES forum window -
and then, quite out of the blue, I got this... I don't know how to describe
it, but it's sort of a sudden, single pang of queasiness. I've had this
before, though not in a good while. I recover every time, but usually it
sparks a panic attack. As I type, I'm feeling better. Maybe it's just the act
of talking about it. Still, I'm kinda scared to eat now, even though I'm
hungry and was formerly looking forward to food.

I just... need to be heard out, I guess.Edited by: fiendish_thingy

    Hi there,

When you have a cold you can feel quite queasy and off your food, so dont worry. Have a drink of hot lemon and that should make you feel better. Have a little something to eat, maybe some toast or some ceral.

Let me know how you are feeling

    Big hugs from England, UK

    Fifi

*hugs back* Thanks, Fifi. I decided to eat a bit more of the sandwich I'd
started on, a cookie and bit of chocolate. Breakfast of champions, right?
*laughs* I'm going to see if I can hunt up some lemon, though, and
maybe have some tea. I'll keep you posted on how I feel, though.

I think the N* was just in your mind, and you will be fine. Hope the cold clears up soon, I know they're miserable and hard to sleep with the scratchy throat. Feel better soon *hugs* Edited by: californiagirl

Thanks. I think you're right, though I'm still settling down with some tea.
(If nothing else, it'll help my cold, right? ) Mind over matter... And,
    btw... Yay, California!

Yeah, sort of. Out in Orange County. Kind of near Anaheim and
    Disneyland.

i believe that often times panic attacks themselves can start out as a whammy of n*...

i just ate some dinner.. i made a cheese a fresh tomato pizza on whole wheat crust. it tasted good. however mostly anymore, after i'll eat anything.. i'll just feel "ughhhhhhhhhhh".. and then i'll start freaking out about it.

and my face will get really hot when im eating too!
its like an unconscious anxiety attack about eating.

i definitely realize that i prefer not feeling full.
if anything good has come out of this..
    its stopped cravings and overeating!

    hope you are feeling spectacular.
bump up the C to get rid of the cold..and take some garlic!

As I dont suffer from this I stil believe one thing and thats If you havesomething as small as even a bit of it gas can make you panic so dont worry. The chances of ACTUALLY just getting sick for no reason ispractically impossible. The main cause Id have to say would be food poisoning and even thats rarer than you think.

Me tooo!!!! In fact, this was how I lost 10 pounds and looked better than ever; unfortunately I was miserable and feeling anxiety/sick all the time. Now I am on meds and feel great, unfortunately I have gained weight again. I always tell people that developing an anxiety disorder is the best diet you could ever go on!
