    How long after eating does someone show the symptoms of food poisioning? Also, is there always v* with food poisioning?

    There is NOT always v* with food poisoning. My friend had it with just d* once. I don't know the time span though...

    "true food poisoning" and I say that because you dont really know since symptoms are very similar to stomach viruses - can only be diagnosed by stool cultures...anyway...


    Incubation ranges from just a few hours to days. You dont always have v*. It depends on what the pathogen is. Here are a few links for you to read.

    Depends on the type of food poisoning aqquired, if it's Salmonella or Shigella, it can usually take 6-12 hours after ingestion of the infected food to take effect on the immune system.


    As for vomiting, it depends once again on the type of poisoning and bacteria and also how long it takes the bacteria to take effect. Food poisoning doesn't always include vomiting. It just depends on how the immune system can handle it.
