I just joined this site a day ago, and I have read through the postings but I do not see some of the symptoms I experience. Read through these and please let me know if anyone else has these experiences.

Afraid to eat too much. Losing weight due to inadequate caloric intake (lost 15 lbs in 2 months). Afraid to consume alcoholic beverages. Afraid to consume sweets (cakes, ice cream, pancakes, etc.). Afraid to eat after sunset.

I think I have included everything I have not seen written about yet.

    liz28,

I am glad you are at a fabulously thin helthy weight. That is how I was about 6 years ago. This time, I only weighed 107 then I went down to 92 lbs. I look like Jack from the Nightmare Before Christmas. It is gross. I am trying to gain weight, but since I am afraid to eat a lot I have only gained 3 lbs in the past 2 months.

    lyndsayanne,

How did you start eating again? Did the psychiatric ward help you to understand that you had to eat?

I don't eat after someone around me has been sick. Last winter I lost a much needed 10 pounds in 2 weeks from not eating. I do not drink any kind of alcoholic beverage. I also try not to eat after 5:00 pm unless I'm so hungry I get n* from lack of food. I don't have a problem eating sweets. I just make sure I don't over do it when I do indulge in them.

    hi

i saw a eating disorders specialist who helped a great deal and also realised through some of my pshcology sessions that i could not go on the way i was it was a long slow process but you really have to work at it some anti emetics such as domperidone or metroclopramide also helped to give me more of an appetite

    liz28,

I am 5 feet 3 inches. My body fat is only around 8% as well. Which, according to the lady who has so kindly offered to weight me at her gym each week, this is extremely low and not healthy.

    lyndsayanne,

Thanks for sharing what helped you. I am trying to get a referral to see a therpist who deals with eating disorders as well. My current therapist tries to blame all of my issues on anxiety, and I really don't think it is that easy. I will have to ask my PCP about the anti emetics that you mentioned.

    Thanks!

If I feel at all ill, or if there is something going round, I don't eat either. Usually only for four or five days though, I don't want to do any damage.
